LATE BREAKING NEWS:
FCC DROPS CODE TESTING
The Federal Communications Commission eliminates ALL Morse code testing after February 23, 2007. The FCC also recently expanded General Class high frequency voice bands for the new no code General Class operator. More good news- the FCC has just granted all Technician class operators, regardless of code credit, voice privileges on a portion of the 10 meter band, plus code (CW) privileges on 15 meters, 40 meters, and 80 meters. This is good news for Technician Class operators. The 10 meter voice band from 23.3MHz to 28.5 MHz is an exciting band, during the summertime, for skip communications halfway around the world!
